Frequently Asked Questions

Waxing

1. How long should I let my hair grow for?

I always recommend 2-3 weeks for Brazilian but the size of a grain of rice or longer is just right. Allowing it to grow up to 3 weeks allows the wax to wrap around the hair and pull it from the root. The first wax is not the smoothest or perfect wax due to the previous hair removal method being shaving and the hairs being at different cycles (Some longer than others). Can take anywhere from 4-6 waxes for hairs to sync. Requires every 4 week appointments for hairs to sync with no shaving in between. This can vary as everyone is different!

2. How long do the waxing results last?

Waxing can last anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending on hair growth. As you continue waxing consistently, the growth will become slower and slower.

Brows: 4-6 weeks

Underarms: 2-3 weeks

Brazilian: 4-6 weeks

Legs/Arms: 4-6 weeks

3. How long does this procedure take?

Waxing can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes depending on how much growth there is. First time appointments taking longer as there is more growth. I still like to separate one hour for all my clients especially first time clients so I can work with them allowing a painless wax and tweeze if needed and if the client wants me to.

4. Does waxing hurt?

It can be more painful at the first appointment as there is more growth and the hair is thicker. After your first appointment, the hair will start growing thinner and growth will be alot sparser. Be sure to take a Tylenol 30 minutes prior to your appointment to help with pain, not Ibuprofen. I will also provide some tips during the appointment for the most painless wax possible.

5. Should I trim before my appointment?

No. Your wax specialist will trim if needed.

6. Can I get waxed while on my menstrual cycle?

Yes, you can but you will be more sensitive.

7. Can I get waxed if I am pregnant?

Yes, you can get waxed while pregnant throughout your whole pregnancy but you will be more sensitive.

8. What if I’m on medications, can I still wax?

It depends which medications. If you are on antibiotics, Accutane, Differin or any medications that can cause sun sensitivity, you should wait 3-5 weeks before. You should also avoid waxing while using any glycolic acid. Send me a message if you are unsure before booking.

9. How often do I need to book?

When you are new to waxing, you want to prebook your appointments for every 4 weeks, no earlier or later as we want to work on syncing the hairs. If in the future, I notice your hair growth is slower and slower and some hairs shorter than others then I will push you out to 5 week or 6 week appointments.

10. What if I have a vacation coming up?

If you have a vacation or special occasion, I recommend scheduling 4 weeks prior then returning before your special occasion. Also, be sure to schedule appointments 2 days prior to going to the pool, beach, etc.

11. What can I use to exfoliate and moisturize?

- Exfoliating gloves, Dry brush (If you have dryer skin), Physical scrubs (Beads)- Fur Silk Scrub, Scrub me Good. Please keep in mind that some scrubs are only meant for face just like some are only meant for Bikini area or vice versa. Supracor is another method for exfoliation, also known as a facial scrubber but can also be used in the Bikini or underarm area.

Some moisturizers are FurYou oil or their Stubble cream which I retail or can make a custom order for you as well. There is the HEMPZ Blushing Grapefruit and Raspberry Creme Moisturizer too.

12. How often should I be exfoliating and moisturizing?

- You should only be exfoliating 2-3 times a week. No more than that as over exfoliating can cause more ingrowns. You can moisturize everyday. Exfoliating and moisturizing plays a huge part with waxing as this is going to kill the dead skin and allow hairs to come up to the surface to be pulled by the wax. If there are ingrowns (Hairs growing into the skin instead of out and dead skin can be clogging it, not allowing the hair to come up.

13. How can I treat an infected ingrown or boil?

- Be sure to not pick at it and only do warm compressions with a wet cloth daily until it goes down.

Skincare

1. How often should I schedule a facial?

A facial is to be scheduled every month for best results or for prevention/maintenance.

2. I am not sure which facial I will need?

Please feel free to send me a message to determine which one is the best for you and your skin.

3. What does the pregnancy facial include?

The pregnancy facial is just pregnancy safe products. No steam, high frequency or microdermabrasion.

4. How often should I schedule a vajacial?

A vajacial is to be scheduled every other month. If I find you will benefit more from monthly appointments, I will make that determination at the time of your appointment.

5. If I schedule a vajacial, how long does it take to see results?

For the best results, it is important to be consistent, follow aftercare and be patient as it can take a couple of appointments to start seeing dramatic changes. Especially if you are waxing, it is important to continue consistent wax appointments, follow aftercare and no shaving in between. Wearing cotton underwear is very important for healthier results!

6. Can I schedule a vajacial if I shave?

Yes, you can. You will benefit from the results even more as you are shaving and can cause more ingrowns and razor bumps. Schedule your vajacial for two days after you shave!

7. Can I schedule a wax and vajacial the same day?

Yes, if you schedule it for the same day, I will just use gentle products for the vajacial since we do not want to irritate the skin more after the wax. If preferred, you can schedule the vajacial 5-7 days after your wax.

8. What does the booty facial target?

The booty facial is for ingrown prone skin or acneic skin. Treats hyperpigmentation and ingrowns. This can also be done to maintain and prevent skin concerns.

1. What is a Hybrid brow dye and is it like a tint?

The Hybrid brow dye is the only brow dye in the market that acts as a Henna, providing longer lasting results and even more pigmented. It is similar to a tint because it is temporary but a regular tint lasts less on the skin while the hybrid brow dye lasts up to 7 days on the skin and up to 4-6 weeks on the hair.

- After 48 hrs, rinse with water, pat dry then do not get them wet for the next 2 days and repeat this process for as long as the tint is on the skin.

- No scrubbing, no soap and no touching brows as our hands have oils that can strip the stain from the skin.

5. What if the color is too light or too dark?

We can always alter the mixture at your next appointment and work together on finding the best color for you. The brows will also lighten the next few days.

OMBRE/POWDER BROW:

1. What is Ombre/powder brows?

This technique is the overall Ombre “makeup” look-- the tails & body being the darkest and softly transitions into a lighter fade as it gets to the fronts with either a soft or defined visible look. This is a tattoo procedure and a touchup session is required at 6-8 weeks to finish the brows. A yearly touchup is also recommended for maintenance.

2. How long does this service last?

It can last anywhere from 2-5 years depending on the skintype and aftercare.

3. What if I have previous work done?

Please send me a photo so I can determine if I can work over the previous work and assure we obtain the preferred results.

BROW LAMINATION:

1. What is a Brow lamination?

- Brow lamination is a Brow perming treatment that helps restructure the brow hairs in your desired direction to give them a lifted or fuller look.

- It lasts 4-6 weeks. You can still come in between those weeks to upkeep the Hybrid brow dye as the dye last 7-14 days.

You are not a candidate if you have a sunburn, extremely sensitive skin, using blood thinners, recent eye surgery, have alopecia, have weak or damaged hairs or have hormonal conditions as it can cause you to have hair loss or skin sensitivity. 5. Who is this service for?

- This service is definitely not for everyone. If you are lacking thickness or fullness and don’t have any gaps, this service can be for you. If you are not quite comfortable with the thick fluffy look, we can also do a defined look instead where I brush the hairs to the side VS upward. The shine on the brows goes away after 24-48 hrs so don’t be discouraged by the shine. It is still recommended to maintain them by applying an oil every day after 48 hours.

6. How can I prepare for my appointment?

- Do not trim the eyebrows.

- No chemical or physical exfoliating 3 days before appointment (Including any acne products)

7. How do I take care of my Brow lamination?

- Do not wet them for 48 hours

- Do not apply products or oils for 48 hours. Apply after.

- Brush hairs into place every morning.

- You can apply a brow balm if you have any to keep sleek shiny look.

- Do not trim the hairs.

- Do not schedule earlier than 6 weeks as it can overprocess and damage the hairs. 3 week appointments for Hybrid brow dye in between brow laminations are okay.
